If you don’t have Google Analytics set up for your website, what are you waiting for? It’s an absolute MUST for your business. For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, Google Analytics is a free web analytics service that gathers the statistics and provides basic analytical tools for SEO and marketing. As long as there is a Google account available, Google Analytics can be set up for a business. Google Analytics displays how much traffic you are getting every day to your website. You are able to see real-time data and specifically where the traffic is coming from whether it be from a computer, mobile, or tablet – Even better, it can now tell you what mobile device your visitors are using when visiting your site. The three main things to focus on for metrics of your website are acquisition, engagement, and outcome.

Acquisition will show you the total number of visitors visiting your website, and can be broken down further by showing you new and returning visitor metrics. You can even see what websites your visitors are coming from before go to your site. Google Analytics will also tell you where they are geographically in the world (not specific addresses but the area in which they reside), what language they speak, and how often they come back to your site if they are a returning visitor.

Engagement shows what visitors are doing once they get to your website and what page they land on. This shows the quality of the visitors by seeing how long they stay on the page they land on (and if they’re reading the content), what pages they click on after landing on the original page, and if they leave right away. They key is to get them to like being on your website so that they don’t leave right away. If the majority of visitors coming to your website immediately leave, it may be time to invest in a better quality site. The three main things targeted in engagement is Pages Per Visit (how many pages a visitor views on your site), Average Time on Site, and the Bounce Rate (if they leave right away and only view a single page, this is considered the bounce rate). If your site is engaging to visitors, your metrics will show positive results and if it’s not engaging, negative results will appear. Either way, it’s a positive thing because if you have negative results, you can make positive changes to grow your online business.

Outcome allows you to see if you are achieving the goals you want from your website. Are you engaging your visitors so that they contact you for business? Are they making purchases from the website? This helps you figure out what you can to do improve your site once you figure out what you want to get out of it.

Google Analytics will improve your business in a short time. You can finally see what is happening when visitors come to your site – and figure out ways to keep them engaged and coming back for more!

Building a website in WordPress is the best way to do it. WordPress has literally taken over everything internet related. It used to be that only bloggers would create blogs via WordPress but that is not the case anymore. Web designers have become even better, being able to build full custom websites in WordPress but viewers would never be able to tell looking at it from the front end. It’s simply genius. The advantages of having a website built in WordPress? Read on:

It’s so easy to use. From the backend of the website, it’s simple to make updates and changes to the website. The interface is easy to follow, and adding images and photos, updating blog posts, and adding content can be done quickly and efficiently.

It looks like a beautifully custom website from the front end and no one would ever know it was WordPress. That is the beauty of what web designers are able to do with WordPress now. Web312, a web design agency in Chicago, IL, are experts at building custom websites in WordPress. President of Web312, Josh Singer, states, “People’s immediate reaction is, ‘I don’t want a blog. I want a website. If you build it in WordPress, it’s not going to look like a custom website.’ But that’s not true. Some of our best and most beautiful websites are built in WordPress and our clients couldn’t be happier with the results.”

Search Engine Love. Google and various search engines favor websites built in WordPress. They are built simply and cleanly, making it easy to index the site and its content accordingly with no errors. It’s easy to optimize each page individually due to the fact that each page, post, and image/photo can include its own meta tag keywords, description, title, and have specific keywords optimized exactly.

No more waiting on someone else to update your site. You can do it yourself! If you are nervous about how to use WordPress, you can be trained on how to use WordPress for your site. Web312 offers a service where you can be trained on how to use it – and it won’t take too much time. It’s important to know all the ins and outs to WordPress so you can utilize every amazing tool and feature it offers.

The price is right. A fully customized website built in WordPress will not cause your business bank account to crumble. Most web design companies that know how to do it right will offer fair prices that both parties are happy with. Singer states, “We know our clients have a lot of pressures owning their own business. We don’t want to add another pressure by charging them some outrageous price for a custom-built WordPress site. We work with them to see what works within their budget.”

WordPress websites are the way to go. The traditional sites are a thing of the past so look to the future – and make your business run smoother and be represented beautifully online with a WordPress website.

When it comes to building a website for your business, it’s important to go with a web design agency that is knowledgeable in building websites – this should be obvious but you’d be amazed at how many web designers claim to know how to build websites and still build them in Flash. So how do you choose which web design agency you are going to hire to build your business’ site? How do you know if either is qualified and that you are getting a great site for the large chunk of money that is being invested into this? Read on to learn what to look for:

Check out their portfolio. A web design agency’s portfolio can tell you a lot about what kind of clientele they work with and how many clients they have actually done business with. Make sure you visit some of the websites on your own and navigate through them. See how quickly pages and images upload, if there is any lag time or if the site has any glitches, and decide how easy it is to read content and peruse the site. Would you want a website like one of the sites you are looking at in their portfolio?

Check out their reviews online. You can learn a lot about a company and the way they do business by reading their reviews online. Of course, you will always get an unhappy, never can be pleased client, but make sure that the majority of reviews are positive experiences with great results.

Check out the web design agency’s own website. You should only want to do business with a company that practices what they preach.

Inquire about other services they offer and ask to see results. Every web design agency claims they can do it all. Ask more in-depth questions regarding other services they offer like SEO, website maintenance, and hacked website recovery. Ask for results when it comes to SEO specifically because good SEO is hard to come by and the proof is in the pudding.

Web312, in Chicago, IL, was voted one of the top web design agencies in December 2012 and they do work all over the country with large, medium, and small businesses. They have experts working around the clock dealing with any issues that arise, in addition to building fantastic websites that get optimal results. If you are ready to have a website built for your business or want to convert to a new site in WordPress, these are the guys to go to. Check out their impressive portfolio and you will agree. Don’t delay the process. The sooner you contact them, the closer you are to growing your business – online.

It’s critical that the viewers of your website have a good experience when visiting it. Your website’s ability to upload pages and images quickly must be quick and efficient. If your website runs slowly, not only will you lose visitors rather quickly, you will also lose potential business. Consumers will simply get frustrated by any lag time on a website and move on to find a quicker and more tech-savvy website experience.

Web312, a web design agency based in Chicago, IL, have some of the best people on their team to fix any glitches or bugs that may cause websites to not be functioning at full capacity. Josh Singer, President of Web312, explains, “We get calls and emails all the time from people saying their website is losing them traffic and page views – ultimately business. When we get into the nitty gritty of their site, we see that simple glitches need to be fixed that can completely change the speed at which their site runs. Many times they are new clients and after we help them, they become permanent clients. Pretty cool.”

Simple fixes can be made like changing the way the code is written on the back end of the website. Sometimes when too many tags are used it can cause major delays in speed of the site. For images to be viewed correctly without losing the quality of the picture, it’s important to use the correct file format for an image. This is a common problem on many websites – the image doesn’t load and you get an empty box with a tiny ‘x’ on the top left or right hand corner. Using an image gallery instead of having each image upload to full-size on the website can help the website upload properly. Images are heavy and quite large so galleries are perfect because it gives the viewer the opportunity to click on thumbnail images that they are actually interested in viewing as opposed to getting frustrated by images not uploading to full capacity and leaving the site altogether.

Singer guarantees that they have never had an unhappy client stay unhappy for long. They have been able to resolve any speed issues for websites that come to them for repair. So if you are having a difficult time getting your website to act at full capacity and speed, call Web312 today. They have clients all over the country and will get your website issues resolved immediately.

Content writing is a crucial part of every website. Some think that content writing doesn’t need to be good as long as it increases traffic to a website but in actuality when building a name for your website, content writing does matter. If you want quality traffic from people that are genuinely looking to read solid information, it’s vital to hire an overly –skilled and qualified copywriter.

Tips:

Get Good Content. If you are looking to not only build SEO but build relevant information that has the potential to reach masses of people on the internet, it’s necessary to have relevant and well-written content. This content will more than likely be shared on various platforms of social media and blog posts just to name a couple so make sure it’s good content.

Use Relevant Keywords. Using relevant keywords in the topics one is writing about will help the articles be indexed properly and the content will be considered keyword-enriched. A good tip: Add a keyword in after every 50-100 words of good content. Very important for building SEO.

Stay Focused. Though it’s great to add some “personality” to what is being written about, it’s also important to stay professional and focused on what it is that is being written about. Make sure it’s a healthy balance of both but that the focus of the writing isn’t lost.

Make it Meta-Description Friendly. Doing so will allow Google and other search engines to index your website and its content properly.

Don’t Copy Content. Copying someone else’s writing or re-using your own writing on multiple websites can severely damage your SEO. It cannot be stressed enough how important it is to use one’s own unique writing on a website. If Google finds that there is duplicate content, one’s ranking will be automatically and drastically knocked down. So just don’t do it. Hire someone who is skilled at creating and at times, re-wording, but not copying.

Support Good Content with Appealing Visuals. The eye is naturally drawn to visual images. So it’s important to add an “eye-catching” photo to an article or blog post. Someone will automatically want to read something that includes a photo over straight content. It’s a quick and easy way to appeal to new readers and get more traffic.

Bottom line is that SEO should mean good content. Though this is not always the case, it will help your business long term if you follow that idea. You will have a longer-lasting following, appear more educated, and others reading your content will actually trust what you’re saying. And hey, don’t think that you can save a few bucks and write your own content – If you’re not a professional writer, hire someone that is. It’s a worthy investment to your business.

A website is a series of pages with information regarding a business built together in one pretty package. It can either be built using a generic template or fully customized by a skilled team of web design developers. A landing page is a one page mini-site built for a business that may not have the money to build a large website, may not have the need for a full website, or is simply looking to have some kind of web presence online – built simply. Landing pages are built to generate leads and can include a contact form, an attractive rotating banner, and some kind of coupon or incentive, just to name a few things. So what are optimized landing pages?

Optimized landing pages are genius. No really, they are. Basically it’s creating a series of landing pages that are specific to a specific area – targeted local traffic. So, for example, if there is a handyman business that services multiple locations in many towns, optimized landing pages would benefit them. The goal is for that business to show up on the first page of search engines when someone is doing a search for a handyman in their area. So if the business services 10 different areas, the business could show up on the first page of Google for 10 different targeted areas.

The content is fully optimized, packed with information to help rank well in search engines and get seen and clicked on. It’s important to have great content written by an SEO professional to get the results you want. Some may be concerned that the business could be penalized for duplicate content but this isn’t the case since the landing pages come from one main website and are tailored to a specific location when searched. It’s a simple way to gain traffic, views, and to grow business by investing a few extra dollars into this idea.

Web312, a top web design agency in Chicago, IL, is incredibly successful at building optimized landing pages for business websites. They have seen huge growth for businesses that have optimized landing pages and not just a static website. It allows businesses to be seen by consumers that normally may not pop up in search if they are only targeting the major city let’s say 20 miles away from another location they may service. Optimized landing pages are a no-brainer for any business that is looking to expand on the internet – and in their business.

People are more into health and wellness than ever before. And with health and wellness means more doctor’s visits. The healthcare industry is booming and people are seeking out doctors and medical professionals like never before. It’s easier than ever to find a doctor specific to one’s needs with the internet being so readily available. If someone isn’t feeling well or decides at that moment, they want to schedule a doctor’s visit to receive a physical so they can start the new juicing trend their co-worker is raving about, they can search right from their mobile phone if they don’t have a computer available.

When deciding what web design agency to use for building a healthcare-related website, it’s important to choose an agency that has much experience in building websites for this industry. Web312, based in Chicago, IL, is experienced with creative web design for those in the healthcare industry. Josh Singer, President of Web312 explains, “We just understand what the needs are for consumers when they’re searching for a specific doctor. They want easy navigation, simple but visually appealing design and layout, and overall functional. Luckily, this is exactly what the medical professionals who hire us want as well so it’s a win/win situation. Everyone’s happy.” It’s important for consumers to find what they’re looking for, be able to research all the doctor or hospital can do for them, and then pick up the phone or submit a form to be contacted.

Web312 is also skilled at converting healthcare websites into mobile-specific capable. If these types of websites aren’t able to be accessed easily from mobile devices, doctors and hospitals will lose business and they know that. Someone may have an emergency situation and need to get in contact with a medical professional from their phone so it will only benefit the business to be mobile ready. Mobile-capable sites are not usually as intricately layed out and as in detail as a website that is viewed from a computer or tablet, but it offers the consumer enough information to allow them to make a sound decision if they want to contact that doctor or not. Healthcare is growing, so you better be on board with an attractive and informative website that makes consumers want to pick up the phone and schedule an appointment today.

Pretty much everyone has heard of blogging. But what is the true definition of it? Blogging is building a community of followers that relate to what you are writing about and the idea is to share information that can be used for personal or business use. People are free to respond to your blogs or share your blogs with others to spread your cause. For business purposes, blogs should pertain to your specific industry and what is going on within the industry.

The Benefits of Blogging

Building Fans and Followers – Having a community of supporters that share an interest in what you are discussing pertaining to your business and the industry itself is encouraging. Others are able to learn new things about your particular business and get involved in active discussion.

Social Media Growth – Having a blog on your website is key to building your social media presence. You are able to cast the blog out to all social media outlets which will lead people back to your website to read the blog and hopefully, if interested, continue to browse through your website to see what services you provide. You can get new clients this way!

Increase Your Page Rank – Blogging helps increase your page rank on search engines since you are constantly feeding new information to your website, allowing the search engines like Google to see that you are actively engaging with your online audience. If people find your blog on the internet and click on it, it increases your web traffic to your site. Having fresh content posted regularly also builds your SEO (search engine optimization).

Easy to Upload – It’s simple and quick to load a daily blog to your website, especially since many websites are now built in WordPress format anyways. If your site is not in WordPress, there is blogging software out there that is easy to use for casting out your blogs.

It’s important to have a blog page that is strictly dedicated to blogging on the regular. To increase awareness for your business, blogging is recommended at least once a day but can be done as little as three times a week, but no less. If blogging is only done sporadically like once a week, every couple weeks, or every few months, it is completely pointless and shows consumers that you are not active in building your online presence or actively engaged in educating your consumers with all the exciting things taking place in your industry. People want to see that your business has some personality and that they can learn something from you too. All of this leads to building your client list in the end.

Converting a website to WordPress or having a website built custom in WordPress format is a great decision to taking charge of handling your website. If you happen to be technologically un-savvy, it can be quite frustrating to have to constantly contact your web developer to make updates to your site. At some point, you want to be able to manage your own site and not have to wait for a call back and then be charged a maintenance fee to make an update to your site.

Having your website built in WordPress allows you to truly maintain, update, and have full control of what goes on and off your site. It’s quite simple to do once you have the formal training to manage your website yourself. It’s important to know how to work a WordPress website. If you don’t, you’ll give up quickly on managing the site, leaving you in the same place you were before – with a static website.

Luckily there are web design companies that will train you on WordPress and how to work your way around the backend of your website quickly and efficiently. Here are a few things you will learn how to do with WordPress:

How to make updates to your website whether adding a promotion or sale, changing content, or adding more/taking away information.

How to connect to Social Media via your website. This includes socializing and adding sharing promotions and news via your site to places like Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

You can see how many visitors you are getting to your site and how many page views you have – where people are going once reaching your website.

You can get creative and tailor your new website to fit your business’ personality.

Immediate access and availability to your site!

Web312, based in Chicago, IL, are experts at building websites in custom WordPress. The front end of the websites look beautiful and unique, but on the backend the websites are easy to maneuver and change. President, Josh Singer, stated, “My team of web designers offer easy training on WordPress. Our clients get trained quickly and are happy to be able to manage their sites on their time. Everyone wins!” Bottom line? There is no excuse not to have a WordPress site. It will make managing your business online much easier.
